Halloween
Here are mine. Aren't they cute? Payton is a nurse, Kylie is a ladybug, Wes is a pirate, and Wade's costume was too hot to wear inside so he just has a ghost shirt on.
Wade was just worn out! The others were almost done too. We spent 90 minutes at the mall trick or treating and playing games. They kids got so much candy and had great fun.
Then we headed out with Daddy through the neighborhood. There were so many kids out this year! We walked for awhile and headed to my mom's street. More kids over there. Man, we got so much candy. We filled a file box full to the top! What should I do with it all? What would you do?
I'll tell you what I did. First the kids and I sorted it. I threw about 1/3 of it away, donated about 1/3, and put the last third high in the cupboard. I think I might need to get rid of that last 1/3 though. I can't be eating it and its just too tempting. Anyone want some candy? I have all the good chocolate stuff left.

Fires
Driving home.
Looking out of my garage towards the west in the evening.
**
Please keep us safe. Please keep our homes, pets, and families safe. Please convince people that no house is worth their lives, and that they need to evacuate when asked. Please keep people off their cell phones so the firefighters can use the lines.God, please let us all be okay.
In October 2007 over a dozen wildfires across Southern California, United States forced the evacuation of over 265,000 residents. This evacuation comes almost four years to the day after the Cedar Fire of 2003. At least one person has been reported dead. Fires burned in Malibu, Lake Arrowhead, Irvine, and San Diego. California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger declared a state of emergency in Los Angeles, Orange, Poway, Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego, Santa Barbara, and Ventura counties as a result. At least 100,000 acres of land were burned near San Diego County.
This is what we have been going through this week. I hope it clears for us soon and I hope more people are not hurt from all of this.

Ultimate Girl Paradise
What a fun night we had! Kylie and I (and Wade) had a girls night out with Sydney and Carrie. We went to The Grove in LA to the American Girl Store and Cafe. Let me just say that this place is so girly, so fun, and the girls could have stayed in there all night if we let them.
Here are some pics from out adventure.

My little escaper
This morning I woke up with Wade just before 7am. I changed his diaper and placed him in the swing.
This is pretty much our morning ritual. He swings and goes back to sleep until I take the bigger kids to school at 8am. Since it was Saturday I wanted him to sleep a bit so I could also sleep. As I was placing him in the swing Kylie got up. She started to watch cartoons so I was ok with leaving Wade. She could listen for him and I could sleep.
After a little while I heard her talking to him. It was really cute. Then she came in to me and said, "Mom, Wade is on his tummy." This was about 8:15am.
I immediately thought how did he turn over in the swing? He is buckled and that just couldn't happen. So I said, "Kylie, he is on his tummy in the swing?"
"No, he is on the ground."
"On the ground? How did he get on the ground? Kylie, did you pick him up out of the swing?" I was a little panicky now, wondering what had happened.
"No mommy, I didn't pick him up."
With a little more urgency in my voice, "Kylie, I need to know that truth! Did you pick him up?"
"No mommy, I promise, pinky promise, I didn't touch him." I could here a little quiver in her voice and she doesn't lie to me so I knew she hadn't touched him.
Still how could he get out of the swing and be on his tummy and not cry? I had to see this for myself.
I got to the front room and he was laying on his tummy on the floor, but not even close to the swing. He was about 10 feet away by the sliding door. Not only had he fallen out without crying, but he had rolled around enough to get away from the swing. The swing was still swinging and the buckle was still buckled.
Here are two pics for perspective. . .
I still have no idea how he got out, but he did. I thought the belt was tight. Now its tighter! And I put the tray back on. Maybe that will keep him in place. I really hope he is not done with the swing. Its where he sleeps the best!
